Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a sintered magnet alloy by greatly increasing the specified heating up rate of a binder removing atmosphere at the time of kneading magnetic alloy powder contg. Y or rare earth elements with a binder, kneading the mixture and subjecting the mixture to injection molding, then removing the binder from the molding and sintering the molding. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin is kneaded as the binder with the powder of the magnetic alloy contg. Y or rare earth elements and the mixture is injection-molded to a desired irregular shape by an injection molding device. This molding is heated to about 250 deg.C at the high heating up rate of 2-10 deg.C/min in a vacuum atmosphere of <=10<-4> Torr pressure to completely remove the binder incorporated into the molding and thereafter, the molding is sintered at about 1190 deg.C and is slowly cooled down to 850 deg.C at 1 deg.C/min cooling rate. The molding is then rapidly cooled down to ordinary temp. The sintered magnet alloy which is free from cracking and deformation by the heating and the cooling and has excellent magnetic characteristics is thus efficiently produced.
