PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body unscratchable on the surface and high in weather resistance even after repeated uses by using a specified amorphous hydrocarbon film for forming the surface protective layer of an organic photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The surface protective layer forming the photosensitive body together with the organic photosensitive layer having a soft and easily scratchable surface poor in heat resistance and formed on a conductive substrate is made of the amorphous hydrocarbon containing at least halogen atom and an atom of V of the periodic table, thus permitting the protective layer to be formed without impairing the sensitivity of the layer in a state of low temperature maintained at <=100 deg.C and an alternate electric field of 1kHz-1MHz frequency applied to it and consequently, and to be obtained the photosensitive body without being scratched on the surface even by repeated uses and enhanced in weather resistance.
