Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a metallic pipe coated uniformly with tin (alloy) on the inside surface in a short period of time by inserting a material of a tin system for coating into the metallic pipe and melting and extending the tin (alloy) by high-frequency heating to coat the tin (alloy) over the entire part of the inside surface wall of the metallic pipe, then cooling the metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:The material consisting of the tin or essentially consisting of the tin for coating (e.g.; tin-zinc alloy) is inserted into the metallic pipe. The metallic pipe is then subjected to the high-frequency heating in an inert gaseous or non-oxidizing atmosphere gas or reducing atmosphere gas to rapidly increase the temp. of the metallic pipe to >=1,000 deg.C and to melt and extend the material for coating, by which the tin (alloy) is coated over the entire inside surface wall of the metallic pipe. The metallic pipe is then cooled as rapidly as possible, by which the metallic pipe coated with the tin (alloy) on the inside surface is obtd. Since the metallic pipe is rapidly heated by the high-frequency heating, the material for coating is melted and extend while the formation of the oxide film on the surface thereof is prevented. The uniform coating is thus obtd.
