Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 （産業上の利用分野） 本発明は記録紙の両面に熱転写記録が行える熱転写プリ
ンタに関する。
（従来の技術） 発熱抵抗体が選択的に駆動されるサーマルヘッドを選択
的に移動させて熱転写インクリボンを記録紙に圧着させ
ることにより熱転写記録を行うように構成された熱転写
プリンタは、記録紙に特別な加工が不要なこと、低騒音
であること、保守が簡単であること等から、各種の分野
で広く用いられている。
従来のこの種の熱転写プリンタの概略構成は第３図乃至
第５図で示すことができる。これらの図において、１は
プラテンで、該プラテン１には紙押え２によって記録紙
３が押接されている。４は熱転写用インクリボン５が収
納されたカセットで、プラテン１側の端部のほぼ中央に
は矩形の切欠６が設けられている。前記インクリボン５
はこの切欠部分にて外部に露出している。又、インクリ
ボン５の一端は巻取ロー５７に他端は送出ローラ８にそ
れぞれ１ｉｌｉｌ！ＩＩされている。巻取ローラ７は必
要に応じノブ１９により手動で回動されると共に、印字
動作の往行程時（第３図及び第５図の右方向移動時）に
はインクリボン巻取軸９により回動されるようになって
いる。１０はカセットホルダで、キャリッジ１１に固定
されている。該カセットホルダ１０へのカセット４の装
填は、位置決めピン１２の助けを借りながらなされる。
前記キャリッジ１１はガイドシャフト１３に案内され、
第３図及び第５図の横方向に移動するもので、その駆動
は、駆動プーリ１４と従動プーリ１５との間に巻掛けら
れ且つキャリッジ１１に係止されたタイミングベルト１
６を、前記駆動プーリ１４を介してモータ１７で移動す
ることにより行うようになっている。尚、駆動プーリ１
４及び従動プーリ１５には所望の歯形が刻設されており
、タイミングベルト１６にも該歯形と合致覆る歯形が内
側に設けられている。、１８は前記カセット４の切欠６
とインクリボン５との間の空間に配置されたり′−マル
ヘッドで、その下部はキャリッジ１１に傾動自在に枢着
されている。該サーマルヘッド１８は、図示しないが、
インクリボン５から離れる方向に常時スプリングにより
付勢されておりく即ら、第４図の位胃を保つように付勢
されており）、印字動作の往行程時には、プラテン１側
にソレノイド等を利用して強制的に傾動され、インクリ
ボン５の裏面（インクが塗布されてい寥い面）をその発
熱体部分で押圧すると共に、配録紙３をプラテン１に押
し当ててインクリボン５の表面を記録紙３に密着させる
ものである。又、２０はインクリボン５の終端を検知す
るためのフォトセンサであり、例えばインクリボン５の
終端を透明にしておくことにより出力信号が変化してイ
ンクリボン５の終端を検知できる。２１は該フォトセン
サ２０を挿入するためにカセット４に設けられた切欠部
、２２〜２４はインクリボン５の移動方向を規制するガ
イドビンである。
このような構成における熱転写プリンタの記録は、キャ
リッジ１１を第３図及び第５図の横方向に移動させ、−
行方の印字毎にプラテン１を第３図の矢印方向に間欠駆
動させることによりなされる。尚、印字動作の復行程時
（第３図及び第５図の左方向移動時）には、サーマルヘ
ッド１８がプラテン１から離れており、印字は行われな
い。
（発明が解決しようとする問題点） しかし、このような熱転写プリンタでは、片面記録しか
行えないので、両面記録を行うためには記録紙３を裏返
して再装填しなければならず、約２倍の時間を要するこ
とになり、操作も繁雑になるという欠点がある。
本発明は上記の問題に鑑みてなされたもので、その目的
は、１回の記録紙の装填により両面に熱転写記録が行え
る熱転写プリンタを実現することにある。
（問題点を解決するための手段） この目的を達成する本発明は、記録紙の一方の面が押接
される第１のプラテンと、該記録紙の他方の面が押接さ
れる第２のプラテンと、前記第１のプラテンと対向する
ように配置され前記記録紙の他方の面に熱転写記録を行
う第１の熱転写記録手段と、前記第２のプラテンと対向
するように配置され前記記録紙の一方の面に熱転写記録
を行うｍ２の熱転写記録手段とで構成されたことを特徴
とり゛るものである。
（実施例） 以−ト、図面を参照し本発明の実施例を詳細に説明覆る
。
第１図は本発明の一実施例の要部を示す構成図であり、
第３図乃至第５図と同一部分には同一符号を付けている
。第１図において、２５〜２９は記録紙３を矢印Ａの方
向に送るためのローラ、１Ａは記録紙３の一方の面３Ａ
が押接される第１のプラテン、１Ｂは記録紙３の他方の
面３Ｂが押接される第２のプラテン、３０Ａは第１のプ
ラテン１Ａと対向するように配置され記録紙３の他方の
面３Ｂに熱転写記録を行う第１の熱転写記録手段、３０
Ｂは第２のプラテン１Ｂと対向するよう″に配置され記
録紙３の一方の面３Ａに熱転写記録を行う第２の熱転写
記録手段、３１Ａは第１の熱転写記録手段３０Ａの近傍
の上流側に配置され記録紙３の先端部を検出して第１の
熱転写記録手段３０Ａによる熱転写記録動作を制御する
第１の゛センサ、３１Ｂは第２の熱転写記録手段３０Ｂ
の近傍の上流側に配置され記録紙３の先端部を検出して
第２０熱転写記録手段３０Ｂによる熱転写記録動作を制
御する第２のセンサである。ここで、熱転写記録手段３
０Ａ、３０Ｂとしては、例えばそれぞれが第３図乃至第
５図と同様に構成されたものを用いる。又、センサ°３
１Ａ、３１Ｂとしては、例えば反射型のフォ１〜センサ
を用いる。又、プラテン１Ａと１Ｂは、例えば第２図に
示すように、モータの出力軸に固着されたギヤ３２でプ
ラテン１Ａに固着されたギヤ３３を駆動させ、該ギヤ３
３にはプラテン１Ｂに固着したギヤ３４を外接させ、更
にこれらギヤ３３．３４の歯数を同一にすることにより
互いに逆方向に且つ等速に回転させることができる。
このような構成において、記録紙３は第１図に示すよう
にプラテン１Ａからプラテン１Ｂに向かう矢印への方向
に送られるものとする。記録紙３の先端がセンサ３１Ａ
で検出されて一定時間が経過した後、熱転写記録手段３
０△により記録紙３の他方の面３Ｂへの熱転写記録が開
始される。そして、記録紙３の先端がセンサ３１Ｂで検
出されて一定時間が経過した後、熱転写記録手段３０Ｂ
により配録紙３の一１ｊの面３Ａへの熱転写記録が開始
される、。
ここで、センサ３１Ａが記録紙３の先端を検出した後に
熱転写記録手段３０Ａによる熱転写記録が開始されるま
での時間とセンサ３１Ｂが記録紙３の先端を検出した後
に熱転写記録手段３０Ｂによる熱転写記録が開始される
までの時間とを適切に設定することにより、記録紙３の
両面の同じ位置から熱転写記録を開始させることができ
る。
このように構成することにより、従来の装置のように、
一方の面に熱転写記録が行われた記録紙を裏返して再装
填することなく他方の而への熱転写記録が行え、従来の
片面記録とほぼ同様の時間で両面記録を得ることができ
、操作が繁雑になることもない。
尚、熱転写記録手段はインクリボンカセットを用いるも
のに限るものではなく、キャリッジの移動可能範囲間に
張設されたインクリボンを用いるものであってもよい。
（発明の効果） 以上説明したように、本発明によれば、１回の記録紙の
ＩＡ填により、両面に熱転写記録が行える熱転写プリン
タが実用できる。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 記録紙の一方の面が押接される第１のプラテンと、該記
    録紙の他方の面が押接される第２のプラテンと、前記第
    １のプラテンと対向するように配置され前記記録紙の他
    方の面に熱転写記録を行う第１の熱転写記録手段と、前
    記第２のプラテンと対向するように配置され前記記録紙
    の一方の面に熱転写記録を行う第２の熱転写記録手段と
    で構成されたことを特徴とする熱転写プリンタ。
