Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、同軸対あるし、は平行対と光ファイバーとか
らなる複合ケーブルの光ファイバーの接続方法に関する
ものである。
複合ケーブルの断面図の１例を第１図に示す。
これは、テンションメンバー１の図りに緩衝材４を巻き
、その円周上に、光ファイバー２及び中継器の給電等に
用いる介在対３を配遣して、さらに緩衝材４′を巻き、
ポリエチレン等のシース５を被覆してある。次に第２図
を用いて光ファイバーの接続法について述べる。ケーブ
ル１１にケーブル１２を接続する場合を考えると、光フ
ァイバー１３の片端からしーザー光１６を入射し、接続
すべき光ファイバー１３及び１４をコネクター１５に入
射する。ところで、光ファイバーの後続の際、１端から
しーザー光を入射し、ファイバーの他端で受光するレー
ザー光の強度が最大となる様に接続するの一般的であり
、かつ有効である。本発明は、上記光ファイバー１４の
終端１７にレーザー光の受光器１８を取りつけ、光電変
換して、その出力をケーブル１２の介在対１９を利用し
て接続現場にあるレコーダーあるいはオシロスコ−プ等
の監視装億１０で、接続の良否を判定し、最も出力の高
い状態の時、コネクター及びファイバーを接着あるいは
固定するものである。複数本のケーブルを接続してゆく
場合も、上記と同じことを繰り返せば良い。上述の如く
、本発明によれば、監視用のケーブルを新たに引く必要
なく、被接続ケーブル１２を介在対１９を利用して、作
業員自身が接続の良否を判定しながら最良の接続を行な
える利点がある。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １ 少くとも光フアイバーと金属介在線を内蔵した複合
    ケーブルの接続において、光フアイバーの一端より光信
    号を入射し他端で受光した信号を電気に変換し、さらに
    介在線を通して接続位置まで返送せしめ、この信号が最
    大となるように接続部を調整することを特徴とする光フ
    アイバーケーブルの接続方法。
