Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 仁の発明は熱可塑性樹脂発泡体とフィルムとの接着方法
に−し、発泡体とフィルムとの材質の組合せくよりて熱
接着が不可能なものに対しても、接着剤等を用いず容易
に接着できる方法を提供しようとしている。
従来、熱可塑性樹脂発泡体とフィルムを接着するKは、
熱接着により発泡体とフィルムとを直接融着一体化する
方法が用いられてお)、能率的で接着強度も大きく、接
着剤を使用しない為に衛生的にも優れるなど好適な方法
として広く採用されている。
とζろが、発泡体とフィルムの材質にようては、熱接着
が困難であったり全く不可能な場合がある。
例えば、ポリスチレン発泡体に対してポリプロピレンフ
ィルムやポリエチレンフィルムを熱接着することは従来
不可能とされてお砂、これら熱接着困難な素材の組合せ
の場合には、接着剤を介在させたシ、熱接着可能な奥付
との積層フィルムとして発泡体に熱接着するなど、非常
に面倒で改善が望まれていた。
そこでこの発明方法においては、上記接着剤等は全く使
用せず、発泡体とフィルムとを直接容易に接着できる方
法を開発したものであシ、その方法は熱可塑性樹脂発泡
体[フィルムを重ね、フィルム側から多数の突起状加熱
片を押し当て、発泡体(加熱片形状゛に沿う凹部を陥入
形成すると同時に該凹部内にフィルムを押入するととK
よって、発泡体とフィルムとを接合することを特徴とし
ている。
次いでこの発明の実施態様について図を参照しながら以
下に例禾する。
(1)は発泡ポリスチレン等の熱可塑性樹脂発泡体であ
り、(2)はポリプロピレン等のフィルムであって、両
者は通常の熱接着方法では接着が困難な素材の組合せで
ある。
(8)が突起状加熱片であり、先端がビン状をなしてい
て、多数の加熱片(8)が背後の基盤■等に取付けてあ
り、多数の加熱片(3)が同時に発泡体(1)とフィル
ム(2)の上面に降下できるようにしてあシ、また各加
熱片(8)#i上ヒータにて加熱されているものとする
〇 上記のごとき加熱片(3)を使用して発泡体(1)とフ
ィルム(2)とを接着するには、先ず発泡体(1)の上
面にフィルム(2)を重ねて載置してお((第皿図参照
)0次いで基盤(至)の下面に突出する多数の加熱片ω
を降下させてフィルム(匂の上面に押し当て、フィルム
(2)を通して発泡体(1)を押圧することによって発
泡体(!)を加熱溶融せしめ、発泡体(1)に加熱片(
8)の突起形状に沿う凹部αGを陥入形成する。このと
き発泡体(1)上面のフィルム(2)が上記凹部(至)
内へ押し込まれ、フィルム(2)の当該個所に加熱片(
8)形状即ち凹部薗の内面形状に沿りた押入部のが形成
され、この押入wAcaと凹SaOとが密着係合するこ
とによりて両者間に接合力が生じ、発泡体(1)とフィ
ルム(2)が接着されることになる(第2図参照)。
従うて、発泡体(1)とフィルム(2)とは加熱片(8
) Kて加熱されて互いに溶融接着するのではなく、発
準体(1)K形成される凹部(至)とフィルム(2)に
形成される押入部■とによる一種の強制嵌合力によって
互いに接合されるのである。
なお上記実施例のごとく多数の加熱片(8)を板状の基
盤ωに取付け、全体を一斉に上下動させる方法のほか、
多数の加熱片(8)を回転ロークー−〇外ffK取付け
、該ローラーを重ね合せた発泡体(1)とフィルム(2
)の上面で回転させることKよシ、多数の加熱片(8)
を順次フィルム(2)上に押し当て連続的に発泡体(υ
とフィルム(2)を接着していくようKすれば、非常に
能率的に作業ができ好適である(第6図参照)。
また加熱片(8)Fiフィルム(2)および発泡体(1
)K直角に押し当てるだけでなく、加熱片(8)を斜め
方向からフィルム(2)および発泡体0)に押し当てる
ようにすれば、フィルム(2)の押入部■と発泡体0)
の凹部■との嵌合力が一層強く抜脱し難くなり、接着力
の向上を図れ好適である(第6図参照)。
加熱片(8)の形状としても、単なるビン状のもののほ
か、扁平な薄板状のものを使用すれば、第7図に示す細
長い溝状の凹s!SQQあるいは押入部■となシ、さら
に上記薄板状の加熱片(8)が「<」の字状に曲がりた
ものを使用すれば、第8図に示す「く」の字溝状の凹部
(1G等が形成される◎このように加熱片(粉は発泡体
(1)の凹部帥とフィルム(2)の押入部■との接合力
を大きくできる形状あるいはデザイン的効果をも考慮し
て、種々の変更態様で実施することが可能である・ 上記のごとき接着方法を用いるのに好適な発泡体(υと
フィルム(2)の素材としては、互いに熱接着が困難な
素材の組合せが好ましく、例えばポリスチレン発泡体に
対してポリプロピレンフィルム、ポリエチレンフィルム
あるいはポリエステルフィルムなどを接着する場合が挙
げられる。
なお加熱片(2)をフィルム(2)上面よシ発泡体(1
)に押し当てるので、フィルム(2)の耐熱温度は発泡
体(1)よ)高いほうが望ましく、加熱片(11の加熱
温度は発泡体(1)の軟化温度程度にしておくのが好適
な実施であシ、例えばポリスチレン発泡体の場合100
℃±20程度である。
以上のごとく構成されたこの発明方法によれば、加熱片
(8)をフィルム(2)および発泡体(1)に押し当て
て形成する発泡体(υの凹WAaIJとフィルム(2)
の押入部翰とKよる一種の嵌合力によりて両者を接着す
るものゆえ、従来の熱接着方法では互に溶融接着できな
い材質からなる発泡体(1)とフィルム(2)との組合
せに対しても、容易に接着することができる。
しかも接着剤や溶剤を使用するものではないから、作業
性も良く、食品包装容器等に用いる際の衛生面でも優れ
ている。
特に作業工程としては、加熱片(3)の押し当てだけで
発泡体(鳳)とフィルム(2)が接着できるので、接l
IK装置などの設備は簡単な構造でよく、コスト的にも
安価になり、作業能率の点でも優れたものである。
さらにフィルム(2)の押入SCOおよび発泡体(1)
の凹部(11)によシ、表面に独特の立体的模様が形成

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、熱可塑性11F11発泡体にフィルムを重ね、フィ
    ルム側から多数の突起状加熱片を押し当て、発泡体に加
    熱片形状に沿う凹部を陥入形成すると同時に該凹部内に
    フィルムを押入することKよりて、発泡体とフィルムと
    を接合することを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂発泡体とフィ
    ルムとの接着方法。 1 突起状加熱片がビン状をなす上記特許請求の範囲第
