Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to burn solid fuel in an efficient manner, by keeping up swirl of combustion gas produced in a main combustion chamber also in subsidiart combustion chambers by the function of connecting passages formed in partition walls, and thereby keeping granular fuel raised and stirred up continuously.
CONSTITUTION: Granular fuel is supplied from a fuel supply pipe 13 and burnt while being stirred up and causing swirl by air supplied from a primary-air supply pipe 12. Here, since a connecting passage 10 is formed as an axial port 10a on the side of a main combustion chamber 1, heavy unburnt substances are burnt continuously while being urged radially outwards by the centrifugal force of the swirl, while combustion gas containing light ash after completion of primary combustion is passed through the connecting port 10a. On the other hand, since a connecting port 10b is formed to face the tangential direction of a subsidiary combustion chamber 2, combustion is kept up in a swirl. In another subsidiary combustion chamber 3, combustion is kept up in the same way, and finally high-temperature combustion gas is taken out to the outside from a combustion gas outlet pipe 33.
