PURPOSE:To keep the incinerating efficiency always at a stable level, by forming a fluidized bed having a uniform thickness throughout the entire inner space of a furnace through employment of such an arrangement that fluidizing fluid can be issued along the extension lines on the inside of the furnace from outlet ports formed in diffuser plates disposed at the bottom of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:Hot air supplied from a hot-air source to wind boxes 51, 52 via inlet ports 61, 62 is ejected into a furnace 1 from air ports 2a formed in diffuser plates 21, 22 and forms a fluidized bed F. On the other hand, hot air of a diffuser pipe system is supplied from a header 8 and passed through diffuser pipes 71-7n. Then it is introduced into the furnace from air ports formed in the diffuser pipes and also forms a fluidized bed F. Unburnt, solid matter such as residue of combustion including unburnt substances is carried to the inlets of exhaust passages 9, where it is subjected to wind screening and classifying function by hot air supplied from the diffuser pipes 71-7n. Therefore, only unburnt, solid matter including fluidizing medium, having a relatively high specific weight, is dropped while forming charging layers S in the exhaust passages 9, and then discharged to the outside by conveyors 10.
