Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A steel contg. no V, 0.05W0.18% C, 0.15W0.45% Si, 0.6W1.8% Mn and 0.02W0.1% sol. Al or further contg. one or more among 0.05W0.5% Cu, 0.05W1.0% Ni, 0.05W1.0% Cr, 0.05W0.75% Mo and 0.0005W0.0040% B is hardened and tempered to obtain a refining type high-tensile steel. When the high- tensile steel is subjected to multilayer welding with ≤45KJ/cm heat input, the weld bond zone has 0.25mm limit COD value at -50°C and ≥55kg/mm2 tensile strength. This steel is suitable for use as a material for an LPG tank.
