Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high strength steel with superior delayed fracture resistance in hot alkali environment by subjecting a steel contg. a prescribed amount of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni and V to hardening and tempering at a prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of 0.27-0.50% C, 0.08-0.30% Si, 0.90-1.30% Mn, 0.5-0.9% Cr, 0.04-0.11% V, <=0.03% Ni, 0.01-0,10% Nb, 0.60-0.80% Mo, <=0.1% Al and the balance Fe with impurities including <=0.005% P and <=0.003% S is hardened at 880-980 deg.C, and the hardened steel is tempered at >=650 deg.C.
