CONSTITUTION:A mixture principally consisting of a reducing iron powder used as an active material and is added with a graphite and the like, is packed into a perforated pocket made of a thin steel plate by compression molding, thereby forming a pocket-type iron electrode. Here, cadmium or a cadmium compound is added to the former reducing iron powder and graphite. As the cadmium compound, cadmium sulfide is preferred.
