Abstract
PURPOSE:To retard the gelling of the positive active material and lengthen the life of the plate, by packing a hard paste into from the center part to the lag side part of the grid base, and by packing a soft paste into the other part of the grid base. CONSTITUTION:From the center to the lag side part of a positive lead grid-base 1 is filled with a relatively hard paste 3 having a small lead-sulfate content, while from the center to the other part of the positive grid-base 1 is filled with a relatively soft paste 2 having a large lead-sulfate content. For instance, the lead-sulfate content of a paste which is packed into the lag side part of the positive grid-base 1 is 10%; the lead-sulfate content of a paste which is packed into the other part is 16%.
