Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable immediate starting of an inverter by inserting a switch circuit to the discharging resistor of a starting circuit for a thyristor inverter and connecting the discharging resistor to a starting condenser at the stopping time. CONSTITUTION:The controlling circut 11 for a discharging thyristor 10 has a starting and stopping circuit 12, an operation detecting circuit 13 for detecting that an inverter is operating, a discriminating circuit 14 for detecting that a stop command is produced with the signals from the circuits 12 and 13, and a pulse generating circuit 15 for generating gate pulses Th1, Th2 by the signal from the circuit 14, and the gate pulses Th1, Th2 are applied to the gates of the respective thyristors 10. Since the starting condenser is accordingly discharged by a low resistance via a switching element when the inverter is stopped from the operating state, the discharge can be completed in a short time, and the inverter can be restarted in a short time even after the inverter is stopped.
