Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and the cost of a chopper controller inverter by stopping an inverter bridge circuit after the predetermined period of time from the stop of a chopper circuit and discharging the remaining charge through the bridge circuit, thereby omitting a discharging resistor. CONSTITUTION:An operation stop signal from an OR gate 26 is applied to a gate control circuit 28, thereby interrupting all the thyristors of a chopper circuit 5. An operation stop signal is applied to a timer 27, and after the delay time is elapsed, it is applied to an inverter control circuit 29, thereby interrupting all the transistors of an inverter bridge circuit 8. In this manner, the remaining charge stored in a smoothing reactor 6 and a smoothing capacitor 7 during this delay time is discharged through the bridge circuit 8 of operating state, an output transformer 9 and a load 10 to become zero.
