Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize the high speed rotation of a rotor for a superconductive rotary electric machine by forming a slit hollow cylinder of highly conductive metal, superposing nonmagnetic metal hollow cylinders on the outsdie and inside of the split cylinder to form a rotor damper, and improving the symmetry of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:Copper or aluminum split hollow cylinders 21c, 21d are assembled by pressing on a reinforced cylinder 23 cut precisely in an accurate cylindrical shape, and a nonmagnetic metal reinforcing cylinder 22 cut precisely in a cylindrical shape is covered on the outside of the cylinders. In this case, the cylinders 21c, 21d and the cylinder 23 are cooled with dry ice or liquefied nitroten, the cylinder 22 is heated by electromagnetic induction heating, a rigit ambient temperature damper 4 is formed by a shrinkage fitting process, a superconductive field coil 3 is protected together with a low temperature damper 5, and the fluctuation of the rotor in the rotating direction caused by the disturbance of the power system is attenuated.
