Abstract

PURPOSE:To attempt the improvement of mechanical strength of a damper itself and that of cooling effect by supporting a damper member by flanges at vacuum container end sections wherein the cooling for the damper member is performed by a cooling duct arranged at the internal circumference side of a supporting member. CONSTITUTION:An inside damper 11 is composed of the following parts: a; a cylindrical damper supporting member 11a supported by the flanges 6a, 6b at rotary shaft end sections composing of vacuum container end sections, b; a damper member 11b installed on the external circumference side of the supporting member 11a and surrounding field coils 1 by a shaft dimension performing heat and electromagnetic shield to the coils 1, and c; a cooling duct 11c arranged at the internal circumference side of the member 11a. The member 11a is formed by nonmagnetic steel material and the opposite ends of the member 11a are formed by metal having poor heat conduction. The cooling duct 11c is symmetrically located in the shaft direction with the coils 1 as the central figure. In the way, the mechanical strength of the damper itself and cooling effect will be improved.
