Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a white line in a copied picture by preventing the deterioration of the charging performance of a photoreceptor even after the photoreceptor is used repeatedly for a long period, by charging the surface of the photoreceptor by a corona discharger with the opposite polarity to the potential of a noarm charging process every time electronic copying is repeated as many times as prescribed. CONSTITUTION:After the corona discharge 2, picture exposure 3, development 5, transfer 6, and residual toner removal 7 of a photoreceptor 1 are repeated as many times as prescribed (70-80 times), corona discharge 2 and opposite-polarity charge are performed without picture exposure after the next corona discharge 2 or by corona discharge 4 after exposure. Normal electronic copying is performed again to take many copies continuously without performing the opposite-polarity charge, so that a white line is prevented from appearing in some copied picture owing to the deterioration of charging performance caused by the fatigue of a photosensitive layer.
