Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to conduct stable measurement of voltages ranging widely from low voltage to high voltage, by forming an electrooptically crystallized body by laminating electrooptically crystallized sheets which are provided with transparent electrodes and covered by insulating resin. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 7 and 7' are formed on the both sides of an electrooptical crystal 3 which is thin and optically polished, and after leads 8 and 8' are attached by conductive paste, the entire body is covered by transparent resin 9. This electrooptical element 10 is tightly laminated, a voltage to be measured is impressed from an object to be measured 6. On the other hand, light from a light source 14 is applied to a polarizer 2 through a photofiber 12 and a rod lens 13' and phase-modulated to oval deflection by the electrooptical element 10. Light put out from the element 10 is applied to a photodiode 11 through a lambda/4 wavelength plate 4, a light detector 5, the rod lens 13' and a photofiber 12, and then, it is converted to an electric signal. It is possible, by so doing, to minimize loss of light without expanding total length and execute measurement by a high input impedance.
