Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a titled electrical steel strip at a low cost by applying a magnetic field in a specific temp. range to a strip made by a direct sheet making method in its longitudinal direction during cooling in a final annealing process for the strip. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel is ejected onto a cooling surface of a cooling body moving at high speeds, and is quickly cooled and solidified, whereby a strip of 20- 500mu thickness is made. Next, if necessary, it is annealed or annealed after rolling. A magnetic field is applied within the following temp. range in the longitudinal direction of the strip during cooling in the final annealing process applied at above the curie temp. Tc deg.C determined by the component composition of the strip. Namely, with the surface temp. of the strip as a reference, a magnetic field application start temp. Ts deg.C and a magnetic field application end temp. Tf deg.C are so set as to satisfy the expressionsI, II, III. In this way, the electrical steel strip formed of easy magnetization anisotropy in the longitudinal direction of 20-300mu thickness is produced.
