Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a cold-rolled steel sheet for working excellent in workability while perfectly obviating the necessity of hot rolling, by forming a molten steel having a specific composition consisting of C, Mn, S, Al, B, Ti, Nb, and Fe into a thin cast strip and then applying solidification and specific cooling to the above. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel having a composition consisting of, by weight, <=0.0080% C, <=0.50% Mn, <=0.020% S, 0.005-0.070% Al, 0.0003-0.0030% B, Ti in an amount satisfying Ti>=3.42N, 0.003-0.050% Nb, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is formed into a thin continuously cast strip of <=10mm thickness. At this time, in the course of the cooling of the molten steel after solidification, cooling is applied through the temp. range between 950 and 750 deg.C at >=V deg.C/s cooling rate [where V=5.0X10<-4>/(NbXB)]. Then, the above thin continuously cast strip is cold-rolled and annealed.
