Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a solid desiccating agent excellent in a moisture absorbing rate, a moisture absorbing capacity, long lasting property of moisture absorption or the like by a method wherein calcium chloride is mixed in zeolite and the resultant mixture is molded and solidified under pressure and, thereafter, the resultant molded mixture is baked by heating. CONSTITUTION:Zeolite and calcium chloride are mixed so as to adjust a ratio of calcium chloride to 10% or less in the wt. percent basis. Then, the resultant mixture is molded and solidified under pressure and, thereafter, the obtained molded object is heated and baked at 200-400 deg.C. The obtained solid desiccating agent prepared as described above has high moisture absorbing capacity even under a high humidity condition and excellent long lasting property as well as phenomena such as swelling due to water absorption, deliquescence, pulverization or the like can be controlled.
