Abstract

PURPOSE: To solidify the impalpable waste containing heavy metal at low cost in an energy conserving shape by a method wherein a reductant, etc. are added to the waste under the existence of a calcium component, and the waste is formed in a molding, whose moisture content is specified value, and treated by means of a steam autoclave.
CONSTITUTION: Calcium is added to the impalpable waste containing heavy metal, at least either of a solidification accelerant or a reductant is added and mixed, and the waste is molded. Diatomite, siliceous sinter, quartz, water glass, etc. are used as the solidification accelerant bivalent iron ion salt, sulfite coke ash, etc. as the reductant. After chemical composition is adjusted in such a manner, the waste is molded by means of pressing, rolling, extrusion, etc., and moisture is regulated so that moistrue content reach 5% or more, and treated by means of a steam auroclave, thus improving a handling property of pulverulent bodies, then easily obtaining strong solidified bodies.
