Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the number of the forms accurately by mounting a luminous energy controller, which is interlocked with a form base and continuously changes incident luminous energy to a light receiving element, in the detector for the number of the forms housed in a cassette of a copying machine.
CONSTITUTION: A light reflecting plate 18 with a shape such as an isosceles triangle is mounted at a nose of a detecting lever 16, which moves up and down while being interlocked with the form base 12, while the base is directed upward. On the other hand, a light forwarding receiving section 21 in which fiber glasses 19 for forwarding light and fiber glass 20 elements for receiving light are arranged rectangularly in uniform density is faced each other with the reflecting plate 18, and a light source 22 and the light receiving element 23 are disposed at another end. When a large number of the forms 13 are housed in the cassette 11, the form base 12 is positioned at the lowermost section, reflecting luminous energy is maximized and the output voltage of the light receiving element 23 is also maximized.
