Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a temperature measuring unit which is small size and does not receive electromagnetic induction, by providing a temperature sensing material consisting of thermochromic materials in the light path of optical fibers and by receiving the emission light of this temperature sensing material through the optical fibers above by a photoelectric conversion element.
CONSTITUTION: When arrow-direction incident light A is incident onto optical fiber 3 from the light source which is not shown in the figure, this incident light A becomes a parallel ray by rod lens 2 and enters temperature sensing material 1 and is condensed by rod lens 2a after reflected once in temperature sensing material 1 by both orthogonal faces respectively and is emitted as emitting light B through optical fiber 3a. Consequently, if temperature sensing material 1 consists of thermochromic materials related to transmittivity, the ratio of intensity of emitting light B to incident light A is dependent upon the temperature because the transmittivity changes due to the temperature, and specially, intensity of emitting light B itself is dependent upon the temperature if intensity of incident light A is fixed.
