Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a monitoring light of a light emitting semiconductor device by fixing an optical fiber through a photoconductor to a package and preferably maintaining the light output transmission efficiency to a transmisstion line optical fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor light emitting element 101 such a light emitting diode, semiconductor laser or the like is disposed in a package 102. A pipe-like photoconductor 106 to which part of the output light from the element 101 is projected incident to one end thereof is formed at the other end thereof in oblique reflecting surface 109, and an optical fiber 105 is inserted fixedly into the semiconductor 106. Accordingly, the optical fiber 105 is fixed through the semiconductor 106 to the package 102 to thereby readily seal itself accurately.
