Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled composite body suitable for use as an additive for a high molecular compound by separating and recovering a solid component from an aqueous slurry contg. zeolite and a slightly water-soluble alkaline earth metallic salt produced by a wet reaction.
CONSTITUTION: A zeolite slurry is brought into contact with a water-soluble alkaline earth metallic salt such as CaCl2 to form an alkaline earth metal substituted zeolite slurry by ion exchange. An alkali agent such as caustic alkali or ammonia is added to the slurry to make the free alkaline earth metal insoluble. The resulting aqueous slurry is filtered, and the filtered cake is well washed, dried and pulverized to obtain a composite body of zeolite and the alkaline earth metallic salt suitable for improving the physical properties of a high molecular compound by the synergistic action of the adsorbing power of zeolite and the activity of fine particles of the metallic salt.
