Abstract

PURPOSE: Prescribed amounts of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal basic compounds are added to a zeolite to give a porous formed body of high strength.
CONSTITUTION: A material to be formed is selected from zeolites, modified zeolites in which its SiO2/MgOmol ratio is increased and their mixture. Then, at least one of basic compounds is selected from alkali metal compounds and alkaline earth metal compounds. The selected basic compound is added to the above material to be formed, and they are formed, dried and/or calcined to give the objective formed porous body of high strength.
