Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect a fiber core connector by making a connection between an optical cable anchor and a pressure-tight housing by a fiber core passed through a metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:A pressure-tight housing 11 and an optical cable anchor 13 are connected mutually by a gimbal joint 14. An optical cable 12 is led into the optical cable anchor through a conical rubber boot 17, and the optical fiber cores of the cable 12 are unstranded, one by one, in a sealing body 22 and connected to an optical relay 23 after passing through metallic pipes 29 provided with large flexibility by being wound spirally between the sealing body and a feed-through fitted in the terminal plate 27 of the pressure-tight houing 11. The optical fiber cores 15 are connected favorably at the halfway points 30 of the metallic pipes 29. Thus, the optical calbe anchor and pressure-tight housing are connected mutually by the optical fiber cores passed through the metallic pipes, so the cores are protected completely from the outside.
