Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent influences of sea water pressure and moisture upon the connection part, by fixing fiber cores, which are caused to pass in small-diameter pressure resistance tubes used as feeders commonly, airtightly by a metallic sleeve after connecting them to each other and by insulating and molding the outside of them. CONSTITUTION:Respective cores 1 and 1' of the light submarine repeater and the light submarine cable are taken out and are covered with small-diameter pressure resistance tubes 20 and 20' which have flexibility and are used as feeders commonly, thereby forming tail cables. After connecting cores 1 and 1' by fusion, the part between small-diameter tubes 20 and 20' is covered with metallic sleeve 21, and they are fixed airtightly by airtight fixing part 24 such as soldering. Further, continuous molding 25 is performed on part 24 with insulating material 19. Thus, influences of sea water pressure and moisture upon the tail cable connection part are prevented.
