Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the bulk of a connected part, shorten connecting work time and improve workability by using a connector for connecting optical fiber cores to each other. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber cables 1, 1a having a plurality of optical fiber cores 1b, 1c are connected by means of a connector 2. To form the connected part, first one member 2a and other member 2b of the connector 2 are inserted to the optical fiber cores 1b, 1c respectively, after which both members 2a and 2b are connected to connect the optical fiber cores 1b, 1c to each other and this part is coated and protected with a cylindrical pipe 3 made of plastics or metals.
