Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a connection part, by connecting an optical fiber core in the cable side and an optical fiber in the repeater internal unit side mutually in an anchor housing having a pressure resistant structure. CONSTITUTION:A cable 1, an optical fiber core 8 and a feeder 9 led out from a repeater internal unit 19, and a part where connection parts 8' and 9' for them are stored are surrounded by an anchor housing 10 and a gimbals housing 13, and the invasion of water pressure from the external is prevented completely by an O ring 6, a tail cable watertight fixing part 12, and a metallic layer premolded to a cable covering polyethylene. When the cable is flooded by a cable trouble, water pressure is applied to the part for connection betwen optical fibers and the tail cable part through a water pressure-resistant pipe 2 in the cable, but water pressure is prevented by feed-throughs 17 and 17', and thus, the optical repeater internal unit 19 is protected from water pressure.
