Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the safety of a cryogenic heat insulating container by forming a partition wall between the inner tank of the cryogenic heat insulating container containing a superconductive coil and the superconductive coil and providing a vent valve at the upper cover of the inner tank, thereby preventing the discharge of the refrigerant in the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A cryogenic refrigerant 6 and a superconductive coil 7 are contained in an inner tank 3 surrounded by a vacuum heat insulating tank 1 and a radiation heat shielding plate 2, a partition wall 9 is provided between the coil 7 and the tank 3, a vent valve 10 is provided at the upper cover 4 (5 represents a crushable plate) of the inner tank contacted with the space surrounded by the partition wall 9 and the tank 3, liquid level between the inner tank and the partition wall is raised upon gasification of the refrigerant, and when the raised value is large, the liquid refrigerant is flowed out via the vent valve 10. In this manner, it can eliminate the operation of a crushable plate, can prevent the disposal of the cryogenic refrigerant into the atmosphere and can improve the safety and economy.
