Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a magnetic head of narrow track with high accuracy of measurement and high efficiency, by performing the positioning with the fitting of recessed and projected core blocks. CONSTITUTION:A track width control groove is formed to each of core blocks 1 and 2 by a dicing process, and then the glass is molded. Then the opposite face between the two blocks is lapped, and a chrome thin film of 1mum is attached on the opposite face by a sputtering process. The chrome thin film is left at both the track and uneven areas by a photolithography process. This chrome thin film is used as the mask to etch the ferrite by the high-frequency sputtering process. Thus a core is obtained. The chrome part of the right edge of the core is covered with a cover to prevent the etching of the sputtering, and thus a projected part 14 is formed for the fitting. This area is covered with a resist to remain perfectly even when the residual chrome mask is removed after the sputtering process. The positioning of tracks is performed by fitting the recessed and projected parts 13 and 14 to each other to increase greatly the fitting accuracy of tracks.
