PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of a diamagnetic field when a 'Permalloy(R)' film to become the core of a thin film magnetic head is formed by frame plating by regulating the shape of the track part of the 'Permalloy(R)' film, and at the same time, impressing an external magnetic field of the direction of a track width. CONSTITUTION:A substrate film 2 is formed by covering and making adhere the 'Permalloy(R)' film of 1000Angstrom thickness on the whole surface of the substrate 1 of ceramic or ferrite, etc., by using a sputter method, and on this film 2, a frame 3 consisting of the resist of a prescribed core shape, is formed by using a photography method.
