Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce magnetic dispersion of the MR element, by arranging the second hard magnetic substance, which has the polarity in the thickness direction of the magnetoresistance effect element film (MR element film), above the first ferromagnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:The thin film group consisting of nonmagnetic insulating thin film 2, the first hard magnetic substance 3, nonmagnetic insulating thin film 4, strip-form MR element film 5, conductive thin film 6, and nonmagnetic insulating thin film 7 is arranged on the first ferromagnetic substance 1, and the protection substrate at the second ferromagnetic substance 8 is arrange on this thin film group through the adhesive layer. Further, the second hard magnetic substance 91 and 93 having the polarity in the thickness direction of MR element film 5 are arranged on both side parts 11 and 12 of the first ferromagnetic substance 1. This second hard magnetic substance consists of Ba ferrite, Mn-Al-C, Co-Cr, and so on and is constituted with the film which has the easy axis in the direction vertical to the face, and a part of the magnetism generated by it is applied in the longitudinal direction which is the magnetic easy axis direction of MR element film 5. Consequently, magnetic dispersion of the MR element is reduced, and the magnetic bias is adjusted with a high precision.
