Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve processing accuracy by advancing a bar electrode to a predetermined position of a workpiece in the direction of its advance or retreat, while subsequently setting the electrode in a revolutionary motion with its amplitude increasing in the direction perpendicular to the direction of its advance or retreat while retreating the electrode so that taper-shaped conductivity processing may be achieved. CONSTITUTION:Processing is performed while advancing a bar electrode 10 in direction of its advance or retreat (the direction of a shaft Z) to a predetermined position of a workpiece 12. At this time, conductivity processing is performed mainly with the tip of the electrode 10. Subsequently, the processing is performed through placing the bar electrode 10 in a revolutionary motion in the direction (XY plane) perpendicular to the direction of its advance or retreat while retreating the electrode 10 from the predetermined end position of the work. The electrode 10 is then evenly worn out because the processing is performed with sides of the electrode, and partial wear of the tip of the electrode is prevented. Further, processing with the increasing amplitude of the revolutionary motion realizes a taper processing in high accuracy.
