Abstract
PURPOSE:To get a spark erosion machine which can easily machine a narrow and deep taper groove or taper hole, by using an electrode which can swing with its tip or the front of feed as the center of swining. CONSTITUTION:A flat electrode 1 has principal planes 2, 3 opposed to each other. This electrode 1 is oscillated with its tip 4 or the intersection the electrode's tip plane 6 and the center plane 5 which is parallel to the principal planes 2, 3 and equidistant from them as the center 7. While oscillating the center plane 5 at an angle of theta, a feed is given to the electrode 1 in the arrow direction 9 toward a work 8, and one principal plane 2 of electrode 1 erodes one side 11 of a taper groove 10 and the other principal plane 3 machines the other side 12 to make the groove completed with an angle of about theta. This oscillating movement sufficiently agitates working fluid for exhausting chips and tar.
