Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase machining feed speed of a wire electrode by a method wherein nondirectional wire guides which are nearly in contact with the electrode through two or more adjacent points are provided on one side or on both sides of a work. CONSTITUTION:Two wire guides 14 which carry a wire electrode 10 are provided vertically nearly in a point contact with the wire electrode and in a nondirectional state. On account of the existance of these wire guides 14 the frequency of the wire electrode 10 is brought into a higher-order mode or into an ideal state with a high oscillatory frequency and a small amplitude. Burn-out causes of the wire electrode 10 such as concentrated discharge and continuous arc, etc. disappear with time. Accordingly, the machining feed speed of the wire electrode can be increased.
