Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the time for processing as well as lengthen the life of a tool by such an arrangement that thr depth of cut in a thread cutting cycle will not become too small.
CONSTITUTION: Registers 101W105 for depth of cut, rest, number of cycles, setting value and last cut are connected to a tool feed control circuit 111 through calculation circuits 106, 107, comparator circuits 108, 109 and a gate circuit 110. If the depth of cut has becometoo small while the thread cutting is performed with the cutting amount held approx. constant by setting the depth of the n'th cut to D, the cutting work is continued with the depth of cut cramped at a cretain value determined by the cutting condition, materials of work and tool. Thus, the time for processing can be shortened as well as cutting cycle is reduced and wear of tools improved.
