Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method of processing machines wherein roughing and finishing are carried out in one process and the effect of unevenness generated by roughing on finishing is eliminated by carrying out finishing following the roughing while holding a roughing tool on stand-by.
CONSTITUTION: A roughing tool 7 first comes into contact with a processing plane 9a with a turn of a work 9, and cutting the processing plane 9a. At this time, a finishing tool 8 moves in a concaved groove 9b, and does not come into contact with the processing plane 9a. If the roughing of the processing plane 9a by the roughing tool 7 finishes and the roughing tool 7 gets out of the processing plane 9a, the finishing tool 8 standing in the concaved groove 9b simultaneously comes into contact with the processing plane 9a and starts finishing. During finishing, the roughing tool 7 moves in the concaved groove 9b toward the next processing plane 9a.
