Abstract
PURPOSE:To stably perform taper-shaped conductivity processing by advancing a bar electrode in the direction of its advance or retreat to a predetermined position of a workpiece and subsequently setting the electrode in a revolutionary motion with increase in amplitude while retreating the electrode and further moving the electrode to a central position in case the condition between the electrodes is aggravated. CONSTITUTION:Processing is carried on while advancing a bar electrode in the direction of its advance or retreat (the Z direction) to a predetermined position of a workpiece. Subsequently taper-shaped conductivity processing is advanced through setting the electrode in a revolutionary motion with its amplitude gradually increasing in the direction (XY plane) perpendicular to the direction of the advance or retreat while retreating the elecdrode. In case short-circuit and the like happen during the revolutionary motion given by signals ex, ey from a two-phase oscillator 42, an analog switch 88 is brought into its off-position and the bar electrode is moved to a central position in response to discrimination of such a condition between the electrodes, and the short-circuit is cleared. Thus, highly accurate and stable taper- shaped conductivity may be realized.
