Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for blackening treatment process by pre-applying nickel or chrome plating to steel parts, such as shadow masks arranged in a tube and forming a blackening film on the surface of those parts through heat tratment during manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:0.5-1.0mu thick nickel or chrome plating is applied to steel parts, such as the mask area 1 or frame 2 of a shadow mask to be arranged in a tube. These parts are arranged in the tube and blackening films are formed on the surface of those parts through the stabilize process of 450 deg.C. This can prevent generation of rust in the heat treatment process and form a blackening film without providing any special blackening process.
