Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a reflex-type photodetector which is compact in configuration and high in reliability at a low price, by disposing the light- emitting surface and the light-receiving surface of the elements used in said photodetector so that there is a given difference in height between both the surfaces. CONSTITUTION:On a disk-shaped stem 21 made of a conductive material a light- emitting diode pellet 22 is mounted fixedly. Moreover, on the stem 21, a mount 23 made of a conductive material is attached by the resistance welding method or the like, and a light-receiving element such as phototransistor pellet 24 is fixedly mounted on said mount 23. Accordingly, the light-emitting surface of the light- emitting diode pellet 22 is below the light-receiving surface of said phototransistor pellet 24, so that there is a given difference in height between both the surfaces. Thereby, the mount 23 can be formed by extruding a part of the stem 21. Accordingly, the configuration can be made compact, and the apparatus can be manufactured at a low price.
