Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the temperature of combustion waste gas at a given value as prevent the condensation of SOx by controlling the effective area of the heat radiating part of heat pipes positioned in a feed water heating section by means of a water supply and discharge means in a waste heat recovery apparatus using heat pipes as a heat transferring means.
CONSTITUTION: A waste heat recovery apparatus 1 set inside a combustion waste gas duct consists of a heat receiving section 2 in which heat is received and released through a large number of heat pipes 9 and a feed water heating section 3 in which three water compartments 3aW3c are formed by two partition walls 31. Water feeding pipes 6aW6c are connected to the water compartments 3aW3c through a circulation pump P1 and a flow regulating valve V1, and overflow pipes 7aW7c are connected to the upper parts of the water compartments 3aW3c. And, automatic water supply valves V6a and V6b inside the water supply pipes 6a and 6b are controlled according to the temperature of combustion waste gas in order to keep the temperature of the combustion waste gas at more than the dew point of SOx. Thus, the corrosion of the apparatus by the condensation of SOx can be prevented.
