Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent white smoke from coming out of a cooling tower, by arranging a damper mechanism to the captioned mixing chamber and supplying the mixed air, being made in the state of stripes, from the bottm of a mixing chamber, and the dry air, horizontally among the layers of a wet air from inside of the mixing chamber, in the equipment of a chemical plant cooling and repeatedly utilizing drained hot water and the like.
CONSTITUTION: The hot water in the system of a plant is heat-exchanged and cooled in a dry and cooling section 2 by the intermediary of the introduced air and heat transfer tubes, then is fed into a dry type cooling section 3, where it is heat-exchanged and cooled further by directly contacting with the fresh air on the surface of filling layers, and the cooled water is reserved in a water tank 4. At this time, the wet air W, increased its temperature by containing moisture in a wet type cooling section 3, flows into a mixing chamber 5, divided into the state of stripes by horizontal dampers 7, disposed on the bottom wall 6 of a mixing chamber. On the other hand, the dry air D from a dry type cooling section 2 horizontally flows between each of the layers of wet air W in the state of stripes by the intermediary of vertical dampers 9. As a result, mixing of both air D and W is facilitated, and the humidity of the mixed air is lowered uniformly. Therefore, white smoke is prevented from coming out of the equipment.
