Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover efficiently sensible heat of gas evolving from a coke oven, by dividing distribution pipes for a heat medium that are disposed in rising pipes of the coke oven into groups every several furnaces showing similar flucturation in heat amount and by controlling temperature every one group.
CONSTITUTION: A distribution pipe for a heat medu for recovering heat is disposed in each of rising pipes 2 (#1W#20) from furnaces of a coke oven. The heat medium is circulated through a pump 4, a supply main pipe 6, the above- mentioned distribution piping part in rising pipes of a coke oven, a supply main pipe 9 and a heat exchanger 3 to recover heat from an evolving gas during coal carbonization in a coke oven. In the above method, distribution pipes for the heat medium are divided into groups (e.g. a group of 8aW8d) every several rising pipes (e.g. #1, #6, #11, #16) of furnaces showing similar fluctuation in heat amount. Every one group, the flow amount of heat medium is controlled through a temperature detector 12, a temperature controller 13A, a flow amount controller 11a, and a control valve 10a. Thus, the temperature of heat medium at the outlet side of a rising pipe is maintained near the boiling point of the heat medium.
