Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively utilize the heat of condensate and to relieve the load on a steam type hot-blast producer by directing the condensate from the producer into a heat exchanger incorporating heat pipes, re-evaporating the condensate to recover the waste heat, and preheating the feed air by the recovered heat.
CONSTITUTION: Feed air is driven by a blower 5 to flow from an inlet pipe 3 through the feed air chamber 14 of a preheater 6 into a hot-blast producer 7, and the resultant hot blast is discharged from an outlet pipe 12. Steam flows from a feed air pipe 8 into the producer 7, where it turns into high-pressure condensate through the heat exchange with the feed air; the condensate flows through an exhaust pipe 9 into the condensate chamber 10 of the preheater 6, where it re-evaporates and then turns into low-temperature condensate while giving its heat to the feed air (fed from the inlet pipe 3) through the heat pipes 1, before discharged into the atmosphere via a discharge pipe 11. Thus, the heat of the high-pressure condensate can be utilized effectively, the load on the steam type hot-blast producer can be relieved, and the use life of the producer can be elongated.
