Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish better atomization of fuel to be injected and better mixing of the fuel with air by injecting the fuel from injection nozzles of an injection valve into a specified region, in a device having a fuel injection valve on the upstream side of a throttle valve.
CONSTITUTION: The throttle valve 5 is shaped according to the cross-sectional shape of the passage through an intake pipe 3 and is fixed to a valve shaft 6 at its belt-shaped part (fixing part) 51 formed in the diametral direction. The fuel injection valve 11 is disposed upstream of the valve 5 and is formed with slit-formed nozzle 112, 112' at its tip part 111. The nozzles 112, 112' have one end opened at the outside surface of the tip part 111 and the other end opened at a conical valve seat 113, while the remaining part 111a of the tip part 111 is faced to the fixing part 51 of the valve 5. When the valve 5 is opened, the fuel is injected form the nozzle 112, 112' only toward the gaps formed between the inside wall 31 of the intake pipe 3 and the outside edge parts 52, 52' in the direction perpendicular to the fixing part 51. Accordingly, substantially the whole amount of the fuel is mixed with air passing at high speed through the valve 5, resulting in better atomization.
