Abstract

PURPOSE: To atomize fuel into fine particles, by providing an intermittent injection type fuel injection valve in an air by-pass passage formed in an intake manifold, and ejecting air into the intake manifold from an annular space formed around the fuel injection valve.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injecting apparatus V1 is disposed in an air by-pass passage 2 that is opened on the upstream side of a throttle valve, and opening and closing of a needle valve 22 is controlled electromagnetically or electrically for ejecting fuel from a fuel injection port 23. A hollow disk-line guide 35 is disposed around the outer wall of the injection port 23, so that an annular space 31 is formed between the outer wall surface of the port 23 and the inner wall surface of the guide 35. The annular space 31 is communicated to a downstream part of the air by-pass passage 2. Here, arragement is such that the top of the port 23 is located outwards of an air injection port 32 to position correctly at an air-flow contracted part, so that fuel can be atmoized into finest particles at the maximum speed of air flow. Thus, it is enabled to stabilize combustion of fuel and hence output of an engine and to improve fuel consumption and exhaust- gas purifying performance of the engine.
