Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a water soluble rust-resisting agent for metal with low foamability as well as excellent safety and rust-resisting effect obtained by containing 8-22C N-acyl amino acid salt having a branched acyl group as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:Into an N-acyl amino acid salt excellent in antirust effect and safety as an org. type rust-resisting agent of iron, copper and other metal, in order to control foamability thereof, branched long chain acyl group is introduced to form 8-22C N-branched acyl amino acid salt having a branched acyl group and the resultant compound is used as a main component of the rust-resisting agent. When said compound is dissolved in water to from an aqueous solution containing the same 10ppm or more, said solution has excellent corrosion inhibiting effect against iron, copper, aluminum, zinc and an alloy thereof in natural water, city water, industrial water, sea water and other water and environomental pollution due to waste water is not generated.
